You'll
love Santa Barbara, with its sunny weather, beautiful beaches, and
variety of outdoor attractions! The city, founded by the Spanish
in the 18th Century, is a jewel of the California coast. In July,
the days are warm (75 F) and the nights are cool (55 F) with occasional
morning fog. Nearby are excellent ocean beaches, lakes, forests
and mountains with varied hiking trails.
Nestled
against the Santa Ynez mountains overlooking the Pacific Ocean,
Santa Barbara can be reached via exits off Highway 101. State Street
runs through the heart of town, ending near Stearns Wharf. Cabrillo
Boulevard runs parallel to the beach. East Beach and West Beach
form the main beach strand in Santa Barbara.
There
are two visitors' centers where you can find maps, brochures, and
friendly people to help you get your bearings when you arrive. Along
the beach is The Santa Barbara Tourist Information Center, with
plenty of parking. Santa Barbara Hot Spots, on lower State Street,
has a wide range of local information. But here you can also get
a cup of coffee, a danish, or use the ATM machine.

Santa
Barbara Climate
Santa Barbara has near perfect weather year round; there is no
"off season". That is especially true this winter, one of the
warmest and driest in years. The summers are mild due to early
morning fog that gives way to clear blue skies and California
sunshine. We have assembled a table of weather statistics to help
you plan your trip; or at least give you another reason to visit.
